Cue the swelling music and fuzzy lighting. It’s our final scene. Friday Pie-Day has come to an end, and it’s time to share one final pastry together before we say goodbye to the Summer of Pies. It’s a tear-jerker, isn’t it? But don’t cry too hard. I’ve saved a splendid pie for our final encounter that is both delicious and easy.
You can throw Chocolate Chip Pie together faster than you can preheat the oven. And while you might think you know what to expect when you taste it, I think you’ll find yourself pleasantly surprised while simultaneously having your expectations met. Chocolate Chip Pie is very friendly.
Chocolate Chip Pie is not just cookie dough baked in a pie shell. It has the flavor of chocolate chip cookies, but the texture is different. The top bakes into a crisp crust and the filling bakes into a gooey chocolate layer and a thin cakey layer. If you’re looking for a great pie to bake up on a moment’s notice, this is the one.

And with that, ladies and gentlemen, we have officially ended our Summer of Pies. Can you believe it? Thanks for coming along for the Friday Pie-Day ride!
Several of you have asked me if I will be starting a new series in the fall. The answer to that question is…yes, I will…but I’m not ready to tell you about it just yet. Stay tuned for more details coming soon!
