Breville Smart Oven

September 11, 2020 · In: Cooking, Favorites, Hospitality, Lovely Living

When I discover a new product that I love, I can’t wait to share it with you! Today I have an amazing report on a small appliance that is changing my life and surprising me at every turn. The Breville Smart Oven is a kitchen power house and is proving to be the super hero I can’t live without.

About two months ago, when we began ramping up recipe testing for the blog, it became quickly obvious that we needed a way to cook things without using the massive commercial ovens in the Hurley House kitchen. My friends at Sur La Table let me know that they were having a floor sample sale, and suggested I try the Breville Smart Oven. I wasn’t sure it would get the job done, but it was the best option I had, so I went for it.

I have not stopped using this oven! It is so much bigger inside than it looks, and I love a lot of the little detailed features. For context, I have baked numerous pies, roasted a chicken, baked a pan of Thanksgiving dressing, and roasted vegetables in this powerful oven. It has multiple setting, including convection, air fry, toast, and proof, but primarily I use the bake setting and love the results.

One of the coolest features that I wish I had on my oven at home is you can remove the bottom tray and wash it. This makes it really easy to clean up any drips or crumbs from whatever you bake. You can fit two quarter sheet trays (which are so cute and little compared to our giant full-sized ones in the bakery).

While I don’t have this appliance in my own home (yet!), I have put it to the test here at work, and I am so pleased. If I had one of these at home, I would use it like a second oven, or even a warming drawer for large gatherings. It really can hold so much!

If you have specific questions about this appliance, I would love to answer in the comments below!

I celebrated my birthday with a cocktail party, and it was one of the best (and easiest) events I have had the pleasure of hosting.
The evening was beautiful, the friends amazing, the drinks incredible, and the secret to all the fun was a twist on traditional hosting rolls.

All the details are on the blog!

Hosting dinner for my work team is a high value for me. Sure, we spend huge chunks of time together during the day, but there is something special about gathering for a meal away from work and purely enjoying each other’s company.

Last night we enjoyed a cozy meal, sat at a table lit by candlelight, laughed until our sides ached, and left with full hearts. What an honor to to work alongside such magnificent friends.

I hosted two new in-person events full of delightful details and thoughtful touch points, hired two long-time friends who are now working with me as a part of my creative team, and celebrated two birthdays. Wowser!

On this Monday morning, I am filled with joy and gratitude for the work I get to do, for the people I am privileged to work with, and for you, the reason I get to continue writing and sharing.

Thank you for reading, attending, supporting, and connecting with me. You give my work meaning, and I hope we get to know each other even more in the coming year. 💗
