When it comes to luxury clothing, cashmere is at the top of the heap. The soft wool, with its buttery texture and unparalleled quality, effortlessly creates a sense of quiet elegance. My favorite way to wear cashmere is in a sweater, and specifically in a crew-neck pullover, although lately I have had my eye on this gorgeous vest and this cropped cable-knit beauty.
If I could only own one article of cashmere, it would be the JCrew classic cashmere sweater in navy. It is a breeze to wear on on its own, or layered over a button down, or tossed casually over your shoulders when you’re not sure if an extra layer is needed but your thankful for the added warmth. Perfect with jeans, stunning with pants, classic with a slip skirt, this sweater goes anywhere with ease. My second favorite color from the cashmere rainbow is ivory, which seems boring, but in fact plays so well with all of my other winter items, I would argue she is the most beautiful hue.
In addition to a handful of sweaters, I also own this cashmere travel wrap (which, to be honest, is a blanket and I’m not mad about that), and what felt like an extravagant unnecessary purchase at the time has become my single-most-important item when I travel. Trust me. If you travel often (or even if you don’t), you need this wrap. It is tissue thin, but warm, working as a blanket on a cold flight, a wrap for a chilly evening, a scarf to wear with a coat, or a super-soft blanket to hold or wear while in the hotel bed. So many amazing uses.
This season, I am looking at adding a new shade (or two) to my cashmere collection, and I have my eye on this cute petunia color, and this statement-making chartreuse. Which would you choose?
