This week I hit my summer wall. It’s not as bad as it sounds, but every year around this time, usually in the middle of a heat wave where the daily low temperature never gets below the temperature of a hairdryer, I am just done with it all. I spend as much time as possible inside with the shades drawn, the fans on, and it gets old. Thankfully, the week was broken up with a last-minute trip to visit Annie at the camp where she is working this summer. It was a delight to see her!
Here is what I wore this week…
SATURDAY

Saturday mid-day we decided to go to the Parker County Peach Festival. In preparation for walking around outside in the heat and full sun, I wore a white athletic skirt and a sleeveless tank, but most importantly I brought my favorite sun shirt. There are times when it is easier to put on a long-sleeved, high neck shirt with SPF then it is to apply sunscreen hoping not to miss a spot. This shirt makes it so easy to not get burned, and I was glad I took it along. Comfy walking shoes were also key.

SUNDAY

White eyelet dress for the win! Easy to wear and instantly summery. I paired it with some old Target slides and my favorite Jellies handbag.
MONDAY

I have no idea what possessed me to decide I needed to wear a blazer in July, but here we are. I love the way this white scalloped camisole layers nicely under sweaters and jackets, but is lined and substantial enough to wear on its own.

TUESDAY

A friend and I call this The Ballet Dress, and it is so pretty and feminine. I added a ruffle-sleeved shirt tied at the waist and a pair of casual sneakers. I love wearing this dress, and it comes in a lot of different colors.
WEDNESDAY

I had to work a retail shift at Hurley House, which hasn’t happened in a long time, and even though it is too hot for jeans and a long-sleeved shirt, this is my go-to retail uniform. It’s comfortable, easy to move in, and super cute with our HH monogram on my favorite oxford.

THURSDAY

We drove three hours south to visit Annie at camp, and for my camp look I paired a cute scalloped tennis skirt with a sports bra and my favorite oversized white shirt. Closed-toe shoes for safety!

FRIDAY

Friday we spent a little bit of time with Annie at camp, and then got on the road to head back home!
