
We have talked a lot about sleep this week, and today’s post is a collection of products designed to support healthy sleep habits. From dimmable light bulbs to a cozy blanket, there is something here for everyone.
I specifically want to draw your attention to three products that I cannot imagine sleeping without.
Several years ago I began sleeping in either a silk head turban or on a silk pillow case, and the difference it has made in the health of my hair was so noticeable my hairdresser asked me what I was doing differently. Cotton pillowcases create heat and friction for hours on your hair every night, and over time, that damage builds up. I also heard one celebrity hair dresser say that you should always sleep with then ends of your hair tied up on top of your head instead of laying on them all night because, “Laying on top of your hair all night is basically like exposing the ends of your hair to a ninety-eight degree flat-iron all night long.” Point taken.
As I mentioned yesterday, I love taking magnesium a couple of hours before bed. The brand I use (pictured above, linked below) tastes like tart lemonade when mixed with a bit of water. My favorite way to enjoy it each evening is in the viral TikTok Drowsy Girl Mocktail which includes tart cherry juice, a scoop of magnesium powder, and a topper of Olipop probiotic soda. Make sure you do your research regarding magnesium. There are a lot of different kinds, and not all of them are designed to help with sleep.
Finally, I love sleeping with earplugs. When I put them in, I feel like I am sinking down under water, and all the sounds disappear. Coupled with a dark room and a cold fan whirring above me, I am out like a light.
