Spring Favorites

March 29, 2023 · In: Favorites, Lovely Living

I look so forward to writing my seasonal favorite post, and today I am excited to share my most recent crop of favorites with you! I personally own and use each of these items, and in one way or another, they each make my life a bit better.

OVERSIZED TRENCH
I have owned a classic, tailored trench coat for several years. But this spring, in preparation for my trench coat post, I purchased an oversized trench coat. This style of trench is very of-the-moment, and I am seeing it everywhere. At first I wasn’t sure I would like it’s voluminous shape, but I have grabbed this piece time after time this season to add an effortless look to a range of outfits. It also happens to be comfortable, which is a plus.

EARRINGS
I am always on the hunt for a cute new pair of earrings, and lately I have been honing my jewelry choices to be more timeless. Don’t worry, I still love a fun statement earring, but the pairs I wear over and over tend to be more classic in style and simple in design. These new hoops have been on repeat for me lately.

PUFF SLEEVE JEAN JACKET
In the same vein as the trench coat, I have a classic jean jacket that I love. However, when I saw this puff-sleeved version from Gap Factory, I added it to my closet. I appreciate how it adds a cute detail and an elevated quality to even simple pieces. The slight acid wash is different and interesting too.

LIQUID BLUSH.
Despite the cringy name, Glogasm by Charlotte Tilbury has made me a believer in liquid blush. You squeeze the product and it comes out onto a small sponge applicator on the tip, and then you dot it onto the apples of your cheeks. A little goes a long way (I usually use one dot), and you blend it out either with your fingertips or a sponge. I like how it gives my face a naturally flushed look instead of a made-up-blush look, if that makes sense. The color I use is Pinkgasm (cringe).

HEADBAND
At the top of my Spring Favorites list is this adorable, bejeweled headband from (wait for it) Amazon! A friend of mine was wearing this one day, and she sent me the link so I could add it to my collection. I loved it so much I proceeded to order multiples to give as birthday gifts to some of my girlfriends. I get comments every time I wear it, and if you’re not into green, it comes in a variety of other colors.

CROCK POT
We were given a crock pot when Timm and I got married, and I dabbled with it occasionally, but in all honesty, I am not a crock pot girl. I get the appeal of turning it on and walking away, but that’s not how I roll most of the time. However, we are a very sporty home (despite not being a sporty gal), and for game days like Super Bowl, there really is only one right way to keep queso warm until halftime. Somewhere along the way I lost that original crock pot, and I have been missing it for very specific uses. When I saw this cute blue model, I knew it was time to become a crock pot owner once again. I have to say, the powder blue color make me smile, and I enjoy a kitchen appliance that reflects my sense of personal style.

TRAVEL BAGS
I have been on a packing journey, endeavoring to intentionally be better in how I pack. Specifically, I have been trying a few different approaches to how I pack my toiletries, and these clear, small zippered bags have become a key component to my approach. Instead of stuffing everything into one giant bag, I pack according to stations. I have a sink-side bag, a hair product bag, a make-up bag, and a shower bag. If you’re looking for a cute, clear toiletry packing solution, these bags might be helpful!

BIRDIES SLIPPERS
These adorable pink poof slippers have been on my wish list for years, and on Valentine’s Day my husband surprised me with a pair! I love them. The Song Bird Slippers are extra (how cute is that name?!?), and I am here for it. If you are looking for a dupe, I have been wearing this knock-off pair from Amazon for years, and while the quality is not even close to the Birdies, they get the job done (and make a cute gift!). I am in love with my Birdies, and find any reason to wear them around the house.

PENCILS
Spring pencils? Yes please! I always keep a glass jar of pencils on my desk for certain situations, and apart from providing a practical, erasable writing tool, they add a layer of beauty to my field of vision. I am all for adding beauty wherever possible.
