Is spring the most beautiful season for home decor? I think yes.
In an effort to incorporate a few spring touches around my house, I have been on the internet looking for inspiration. I found a few images that are giving me all the spring feels, and today I want to dive into what is speaking to me and share how I think these ideas would translate well into my real world.
Remember, perfection is a myth, pinterest is not reality, and a home full of love is always more important than a house full of beautiful things. With our heart in the right place, let’s dive in!
I have pulled a few of my favorite images and divided them into categories below, but you can find all of my inspiration images and ideas on my Springing The Home Pinterest board.
BEDROOMS

It is unrealistic for me to redecorate my bedrooms seasonally, but I have discovered the power of shifting a few elements to usher in seasonal flair. Most of my year-round bedding is white, and in the spring, a pop of pale pink or a vase of fresh greenery helps it feel more like spring. I ditch the heavy blankets and fuzzy elements and trade them out for lighter fabrics. When my girls were little and slept in twin beds, I bought seasonal sheets for them from Target, and the spring prints always made their rooms look so fresh and fun.
If you have multiple pillows on your bed, shifting one set of them to a lighter fabric or pattern will make a huge difference. For example, if you have euro shams and standards shams, switching the standard shams into a seasonal pattern or texture will transform the way your bedroom looks and feels.
I don’t have small lamps in my room, but I like the idea of shifting the shades (like the cute pink ones above) to make it feel like spring.
LIVING AREAS

If the general palette of your home is neutral, I think the name of the game for making it feel like spring is adding pops of plants and flowers in key places. Switching out the covers to throw pillows, trading heavy dark blankets for light-weight neutrals, and adding cute touches like bunnies, eggs, or wicker accessories creates a feeling of Spring.
I have a set of dishes that are technically meant for Easter, with cute bunnies and a pastel border, but I leave them out all spring on my shelves. They transform my breakfast room with springy flair, and I like seeing the bunnies for as long as possible.
DINING AREAS

An easy visual win is to trade out your dish towels for pink or blue or white versions. If you have any white pieces (bowls, pitchers, trays), bring them front and center. Fresh flowers, a bowl of lemons, and a fresh set of hand soap and dish soap in a seasonal variety breathes freshness into your kitchen.
For the table, I switch out my ivory tapers for some fun pastels, use pink napkins with my white plates, and embrace all the fresh flowers at my grocery store. I don’t always have fresh flowers in my home, but in the spring, it is so easy to pick up a bunch and have a casual arrangement as part of our regular decor.
SHEVLES

In my home, we have a lot of visual shelves. I like to shift things around to highlight certain tones and textures seasonally. In the spring, this means highlighting all the pinks, blues, and whites. I add greenery, and make sure there is ample negative space to keep it from looking crowded.
PRODUCTS

Never underestimate the power of small shifts in your home. It can feel overwhelming to consider changing the decor of your home seasonally, but simple touches go a long way. A different pillow case. A bowl of spring green pears. A framed art work of fresh florals. A touch of pink, green, or white in any form. All of these small touches that will usher spring into your home in big ways.
If this idea is new to you, and you aren’t sure where to start, choose one area. When I feel uninspired, I start with our bar cart. I choose springy napkins, remove anything dark or heavy, add a white tray, a fresh flower, and something fun like pink straws, and instantly spring has arrived in our home.
Staring with one area usually inspires me to keep going, and I find myself taking ten minutes here or fifteen minutes there to fluff corners of our home and usher in the new season. Below are some recent products I have seen that might be the perfect spring touch you’ve been looking for in your home.
