Summer at Hurley House

June 1, 2018 · In: Chronicles, Hurley House

School is out!  The sun is shining!  And Summer has officially launched at Hurley House!

This summer we will still have our two weekly Take Away Menus, we will still have lunch, and we will still have our delicious, daily bakery case.

So what’s new and different?

First, BANANA PUDDING!!!  Get excited for this seasonal favorite.  It’s epic.

Second, LEMONADE!!!  Made from scratch in our kitchen with fresh, real ingredients, this is perfect for summer sipping.  Mix it with our Iced Mint Tea for a particularly refreshing afternoon pick-me-up.

Third, CRAFT CAMP!!!  Craft Camp happens on Mondays at Hurley House, and it is a great activity to work into your weekly routine with your children.  Pop in any time between 10:00 and 4:00 on Monday to sit at our tables and do a summer-themed craft with your children.  The activities are geared to be independent for younger elementary-aged children and require a little bit of help for pre-schoolers.  The cost is $5 per child.

Fourth, LUNCH FOR LITTLES!!!  We are launching a lunch menu for children this summer.  We call it the HH Little Trio, and you get to choose three items for your child (Uncrustable PB&J, string cheese, fruit cup, or bagel chips).  It comes with your choice of  a beverage for them (Honest Kids juice box or lemonade).  The cost is $6 for the Little Trio, or you can purchase individual components if you like.

Last, BIGGER GRAB AND GO!!!  All of our lunch items (Lemon Basil Chicken Salad, Orzo with Roasted Vegetables, Fruit Salad, Pimiento Cheese, Bagel Chips, and Banana Pudding) are available in larger portions, perfect for pool side dining or feeding a crowd.

We can’t wait to see you at Hurley House this summer!

I took a spring break field trip to Dallas with my friend Nicole, and our sole purpose was to eat lunch at Loro.

Did we order half the menu for only the two of us? We did.

Was every bite totally worth it? Absolutely.

A true friend will order way too much food with you simply for the experience of sharing it together. πŸ’—

In an effort to get inspired to add a touch of spring to my home, I did an internet deep-dive to create what I think is a beautiful collection of inspiring images designed to spark my inner home-decor maven.

The result is a game-plan for small ways I am planning on fluffing my home for spring without redecorating every room.

No, we didn’t travel with the dog. Yes, we did travel halfway with toddlers. Yes, we broke down on the side of the highway and rode in a tow truck. Apart from that drama, it was lots of food, coffee, band, shopping, hanging, filling out Oscar ballots, and watching Lillian master the hoverboard.
