Summer Favorites

June 21, 2023 · In: Favorites, Lovely Living

I have a great collection of new favorites to show you today, and all of them have enhanced my summer season in one way or another. Let’s dive in…

WHITE LINEN SHIRT DRESS
This dress has my heart. It has so many features I love, including sleeves with stretchy arm bands, a wonderfully long length, soft linen, and it is fully lined. They combine into one effortlessly elegant summer frock that I am finding myself wearing on repeat.

LINEN QUILT
When warmer weather arrives, I switch out our down comforter for this beautiful linen quilt. It provides cover without heavy weight, and the breathable linen is the perfect bed covering for summer.

GIANT WOODEN SALAD BOWL
Don’t you feel like summer food is the easiest? Throw a bunch of fresh ingredients into a bowl and turn it into a salad. I find myself grabbing my oversized wooden salad bowl regularly during the summer months, and it creates the perfect vessel for housing fresh salads of any kind. Ours was a wedding gift, but this one from Target is a bargain!

INSTAX CAMERA
I’m in a bit of a polaroid era right now, smitten with the tiny photos. This summer I am capturing fun moments, not overthinking it, and creating a fun collection of nostalgic prints. My oldest daughter is a counselor at a camp this summer, and she took her Instax Camera with her for the same reason. There really is something charming about a collection of analog prints in a digital age.

JOUER POWDER
I discovered this powder on TikTok, and it is amazing. I can’t tell you how it works, but on my mature, dry-prone skin, it provides a blurring effect, and I use it as the final step in my makeup routine. Flawless!

MADEWELL WIDE-LEG WHITE JEANS
A couple of my friends bought these jeans, and I wasn’t convinced they would work on me. Boy was I wrong! After years of wearing stark-white denim that tended to be a bit too thin and see-through for my liking, these jeans are winning my heart. They are thicker than typical denim (but not in a heavy way), and the cream color is so beautiful and offers an alternative to bright white. The wide leg is very on trend, and instead of wearing the cropped length, I ordered them in the tall length which made them full-length on me. I love them!

CAJUN SHRIMP NAIL POLISH
Is there a better summer nail color? I think not! Cajun Shrimp signifies the arrival of summer for me as much as lemonade and longer days.

CAR SHADE
I park my car in a parking lot every day at work, and wow does the heat do a number on the interior of my car. This car shade has taken the burn out of the steering wheel and the sizzle out of my seats.

ROUND ICE CUBE TRAYS
I have crossed over and become high maintenance when it comes to ice. I fully accept how silly it sounds, but this cute little round ice cube tray makes me smile. The tiny spheres of ice add a fun touch to iced coffee, cocktails, or lemon water.

SPACE BAGS
When it is time to tuck away sweaters and comforters, space bags are my saving grace. I find it so satisfying to stuff one of these bags with bulky items, hook up the vacuum hose, and watch the bank sink into a fraction of its former self.

UNIVERSAL BLACK-OUT LINERS
Our master bedroom gets the brunt of the sun in the summer, and the heat can really be difficult to manage. I discovered these black out liners which can be added to any existing curtain, and they keep our room cool and dark.
