Remember when we discussed Springing The Home? It’s time for another installment of seasonal shifts we can make in our home that signal the current season. It’s time to summer the home!
To help us get some cute ideas, I have put together a Summering The Home board on Pinterest, and it is full of inspiration photos. Remember, perfection is a myth and comparison is the thief of joy, so proceed kindly. Look for ideas that speak to you and that you can easily incorporate into your own home in ways that make sense for you.

To me, summer has a casual, laid back feel. A summer home feels relaxed, full of lightness and fresh items, with places to sit and relax or curl up and read. It’s cozy, but in a breathable, airy way.

Light colors, displays of fresh ingredients, lemons, limes, white flowers, striped beach towels, and a place to leave your flip flops and swimsuits are all great ways to summer your home.

In the bedroom, it’s time to replace heavy comforters with lightweight quilts. Stripes and florals, particularly mixed together, give a playful nod to summertime fun.

In the kitchen, I love to display fresh tomatoes and peaches. Our fridge is full of cherries, blackberries, and tons of lemons and limes. Keeping carafes of lemon water is an easy luxury in the summer and makes it easy to enjoy extra hydration.

If you have display shelves, incorporating lighter colors or even beach items like shells or sand-filled vases is a fun nod to all things summer.
