CASHMERE CREW NECK.
Cashmere isn’t just luxurious. It’s warm. The first article of cashmere clothing I owned was this navy blue crew neck sweater from J.Crew. Beyond it’s softness and perfectly proportioned fit, this layer became my go-to for staying warm. If it particularly cold, I will layer a turtleneck under the cashmere sweater and then wear my puffy coat on top. The cashmere wool is so warming, and I rely heavily on this sweater (I now own it in ivory and grey) for warmth during the winter months.
COURANT WIRELESS CHARGER.
This time last year I discovered the Courant wireless charger and have kept one next to my bed for my phone. This past year I upgraded my phone to the mag-charger model, and Courant has added a new charging station that I received for Christmas and am going to keep at my desk. The angled magnetic base makes for easy viewing or scrolling while it charges, and in true Courant fashion, it looks beautiful.
EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE.
In January I go through my laptop and clean out my computer files. Specifically, I move as much off of my hard drive as possible to create space for the coming year. I use Dropbox for cloud-based storage, but I like to also keep an external hard drive with all of my files on it. This model by LeCie is my favorite, providing an enormous amount of storage in a handy, sleek style.
FRESH WHITE BATH TOWELS.
January is a great time to upgrade your towel situation at home. I love Brook Linen towels. For my kids, I buy the classic, and for my husband and I, I buy the plush. I am going to be retiring the stained hand towels and some of the girls’ bath towels and refreshing them with new ones soon.
GOLD BOW EARRINGS.
In the season of puffy coats, turtleneck sweaters, and plush scarves, earring can really get in the way. I love the way these classy gold bow earring deliver a pop of cuteness without getting tangled in my winter wear.
KIEHL’S BODY OIL.
You already know that Kiehl’s body lotion is my one. But in the ridiculously dry winter months, I double up on the moisture. Right after I get out of the shower, I lightly towel off and then spray on the Dry Body Oil. It is light and easily absorbs into my skin, but leaves a layer of dewy moisture. Then I top it with a generous application of the Kiehl’s body lotion. The duo delivers a power punch of hydration that keeps my skin soft and protected all season.
MAKEUP BRUSH CLEANING MAT.
I am notoriously terrible about cleaning my make-up brushes, but I am determined to improve in this area. My favorite method is to use a small drop of dish soap and a nubby silicone mat. The nubs agitate the soap and really get the gunk out of each brush without damaging the bristles.
PINK FAUX FUR BLANKET.
Nothing beats a winter bed, full of fluffy layers and warming textures. When cold nights call for a bit more bulk, this beautiful pink fluffy blanket is my go to. I received it for Christmas, and it is heavenly. Thick. Heavy. Super soft. It’s everything I want in a winter blanket.
SPARKLY HEADBANDS.
Winter dressing can get very drab and repetitive. Jeans. Uggs. Coat. Repeat. A pop of headband bling is a great way to shake things up and keep the situation from becoming too boring. These jeweled headbands from Anthropologie are so pretty on their own, or particularly gorgeous when layered together.
SPICE JARS.
After ten years of a sub-par spice organization, I am thinking about upgrading how I store my spices at home. These cute glass jars are the preferred storage method of Deb from Smitten Kitchen, and I think she is on to something. I plan to pair them with a tiered shelf from Container Store.
WINTER NAIL POLISH.
Winter is the time for deeper shades on my nails, and my winter go-to color is Yes My Condor Can-Do by OPI. The lovely wine color delivers a moody pop of color without leaning too far towards goth.
